Businessman Victor Slivinschi on his student‑era attempt to enter politics: “Looking back now, I realize I was extremely enthusiastic about the field I was studying…”

Businessman Victor Slivinschi, founder of TURBOENERGY POWER, recalls in an interview for thelist.md how he briefly flirted with politics during his university years, TRIBUNA reports.

“I did flirt with it! And it wasn’t accidental, because I graduated from the Faculty of International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences, and already in my third year of university I ran as an independent candidate in the 2005 parliamentary elections. Looking back now, I understand that I was extremely enthusiastic about the field I was studying and, of course, extremely brave and naïve. But today I can say with certainty that politics does not interest me. I am focused solely on the businesses we are developing as a group, and in the short term we still have two major and important projects to complete. That is all that concerns me day by day,” Slivinschi said.

Asked how he entered the business world, he explained that everything began in 2007.

“I entered business in 2007, exactly when Romania joined the European Union, and I saw that process as an opportunity — a chance for development. In 2015, we expanded our business into Romania. We grew organically, building strong partnerships on both sides of the Prut,” the businessman said.

Victor Slivinschi admits that the journey was not easy, as there were many tough challenges, but he managed to overcome them and turn them into opportunities. “And I am absolutely convinced that the success of my businesses is due to the fact that I never considered money an absolute priority, even though doing business means making money. For me, it has always mattered to meet the objectives I set, not to disappoint partners who signed contracts and projects with me. And money is a natural consequence of the business approach my colleagues and I have. Today we are developing businesses in several fields — energy, real estate, pharmaceuticals and agriculture,” he added.

Asked whether his wealth exceeds 100 million euros, Victor Slivinschi did not deny it, noting that he currently has 400 employees, and the taxes paid to the budgets of the Republic of Moldova and Romania exceed 20 million euros.

“It is also a satisfaction for me to see how a business develops, how the projects we implement improve things around us. It may sound strange, but for me it is a satisfaction to know that I fulfill honorably the role of being a partner of the state — a role that every company has. Yes, I am not exaggerating — I see every company as a partner of the state. Because through the jobs created, through the taxes and duties paid, through the projects implemented, companies help the state raise the standard of living and meet socio‑economic responsibilities,” the businessman said.
