Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Eugeniu Osmochescu, represented the Republic of Moldova at the Global Industry Summit and the 21st session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
In his opening remarks, Minister Osmochescu emphasized that modern industrial development must be based on coherent governmental leadership, strong institutions, and a private sector capable of innovating and adapting quickly.
He also reaffirmed Moldova’s commitment to deepening cooperation with UNIDO in essential areas such as industrial modernization, digitalization, the transition to green energy, and the development of quality infrastructure — priorities that contribute to strengthening the national economy, attracting investments, and accelerating the process of European integration.
Later, during a bilateral meeting with UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller, Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu discussed prospects for deepening economic and industrial cooperation, reiterating Moldova’s gratitude for the support provided in strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy and facilitating SMEs’ access to international markets.
The Republic of Moldova also welcomed the progress made in drafting the Country Partnership Programme (PCP) 2025–2029, which will serve as a strategic instrument for modernizing industrial sectors, accelerating the green and digital transition, and creating a favorable environment for private investment in strategic economic areas.
UNIDO’s openness and commitment to Moldova’s sustainable development underline that we continue to strengthen economic resilience through international dialogue, investments in innovation and clean technologies, and by affirming our potential within the global community.
