The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reminds party leaders and treasurers of their obligation to submit, by 31 March 2026, the financial management reports for the year 2025. The Commission has notified 23 political parties which, as of 23 March 2026, had not undertaken any reporting action, TRIBUNA reports.
The institution reiterates that the report must be submitted electronically through the “Financial Control” Information System (SSI). The CEC notes that the annual financial management report for 2025 can be completed in the system only if the reports for the first and second semesters of 2025 have already been entered. The report must be signed by both the party treasurer and the party leader; if the leader is serving in an interim capacity, this information must be confirmed by the Public Services Agency. Otherwise, the reports will not be accepted.
If the data in the financial management report are incomplete or unclear, the CEC has the right to request additional information, and the party is obliged to provide it within the indicated deadline or within no more than 14 working days from the date of the request.
The Commission also specifies that the financial management report must be submitted together with all monthly bank statements for the reporting period. Copies of primary documents related to revenues and expenditures must be provided electronically only upon request from the CEC.
The CEC warns that failure to submit the financial management report within the legal deadline and format — including submitting incomplete data — constitutes a violation of legal provisions and may result in administrative liability. It also recalls that, under Article 21(11) of Law No. 294/2007 on political parties, a party’s activity may be restricted if it fails to submit the financial management report within the deadline and format established by the CEC.
