The General Mayor of Chișinău, Ion Ceban, has announced the creation of the Committee for Strategic Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation — an essential step to ensure a solid relationship with Parliament, especially in the context of current reforms targeting public administration and the intention to close more than 600 town halls, TRIBUNA reports.
“We are closely monitoring how these changes may affect the municipality of Chișinău, because I will not accept any modification of the city’s boundaries without prior consultation with the residents,” the mayor stated.
Ion Ceban also added that for 2026, Chișinău City Hall has planned a record volume of projects, larger than those of 2024 and 2025 combined.
“The new working group will rigorously oversee public procurement, the protection of heritage, and urban development, ensuring strategic and transparent planning for the future of the Capital.
My priority is for this committee to efficiently coordinate the General Urban Plan and the urban mobility plan, ensuring full transparency. I have confidence in the team made up of professionals such as Ilie Ceban, Irina Gutnic, Olesea Pșenițchi, Victor Pruteanu, and Tatiana Oboroc.
On the Parliament side: Gaik Vartanean, Elena Panuș, and more broadly, Natalia Ixari and Corneliu Iațco, as well as a representative of the municipal faction, who will be designated by our colleagues from the MAN faction,” the General Mayor concluded.
