In Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov held several meetings with European officials.
“We discussed the progress and future objectives on our country’s European agenda with Aingeal O’Donoghue, Ireland’s Permanent Representative to the EU — the country that will assume the Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of this year. I also spoke with Germany’s Permanent Representative Thomas Hans Ossowski and France’s Permanent Representative Philippe Leglise‑Costa about the geopolitical developments of the past month and the role of a united Europe in facing new challenges,” Cristina Gherasimov stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister also discussed developments on the European agenda and the actions to be undertaken in the country with Thérèse Blanchet, Secretary‑General of the Council of the EU, Ilze Juhansone, Secretary‑General of the European Commission, and Ana Gallego, Director‑General for Justice and Consumers at the European Commission.
“The support of the European Commission and the expertise of the Council of the EU are invaluable in the process of transforming the Republic of Moldova and preparing the country for accession”, Cristina Gherasimov added.
