Prime Minister: Across the country, state institutions are mobilized and acting in a coordinated manner

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu stated that state institutions nationwide are mobilized and working in a coordinated way to clear roads, maintain essential services, and ensure public safety.

He expressed gratitude to all field teams — rescuers, road workers, energy specialists, police officers, and medical staff — who are operating in difficult conditions.

A total of 91 special vehicles and 319 employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations carried out prevention and response actions related to exceptional situations.

At the national level, the National Road Administration deployed 115 technical units, spreading over 1075 tons of technical salt and around 295 tons of anti-skid material.

Electricity distribution operators are working to repair network outages across the country.

The pre-hospital emergency medical service received 2716 requests. After providing urgent medical assistance, 1248 patients (985 adults and 263 children) were transported to hospitals.

Emergency medical teams responded to 11 road accidents. All patients received urgent care, and 15 adult patients were transported to hospitals for specialized treatment.

265 educational institutions are operating online, 54 in a mixed format, 202 will recover classes later, and 614 are functioning normally with physical attendance.

The Prime Minister noted that several decisions were taken to reduce risks and facilitate daily activity:

  • Throughout this week, the workday and school hours will begin at 09:00.
  • Depending on their responsibilities, heads of institutions will decide on the possibility of remote work.
  • Economic agents must remove ice from the areas adjacent to their premises.
  • The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the National Army will support local authorities, upon request, in the most affected or dangerous areas, including ensuring access to critical infrastructure and protecting the population.

“I urge everyone to show responsibility and solidarity. Take care of those around you — family, friends, neighbors — especially vulnerable people, follow the authorities’ recommendations, and avoid unnecessary risks.

The Government will continue to closely monitor the situation and take the necessary decisions to ensure that daily life can continue safely,” the Prime Minister added.
