During the 2025–2026 cold season, families will benefit from compensations ranging between 500 and 1000 lei. The Cabinet of Ministers today approved the Government Decision establishing the mechanism for granting heating compensations for the cold period of the year, TRIBUNA reports.
As in the previous season, support will be provided in the form of monetary payments. The amount will be transferred to a bank card or can be collected from any post office in the country, upon presentation of an identity card.
The non-vulnerability criteria have also been adjusted, with the introduction of a new criterion – income from bank interest, which must not exceed 4000 lei for the previous year. This ensures more efficient management of compensation distribution.
The minimum compensation value remains unchanged at 500 lei – a stable support designed to provide guaranteed minimum protection to all families eligible to receive compensation. The maximum compensation value will be 1000 lei, set in consideration of technical parameters such as tariffs, average consumption, and energy market developments.
Compensations will be calculated individually for each household, based on several criteria such as income, number of members, heating source, and the status of each member (pensioner, person with disabilities, student, child). It should be noted that the “Energy Vulnerability” Information System cross-checks data from the information systems of multiple institutions: the State Tax Service, the National Social Insurance House, the National Council for Determining Disability and Work Capacity, the Public Services Agency, energy providers, the National Employment Agency, universities, and banking institutions.
Since the beginning of the registration period, 780,000 applications have been submitted. Individuals who did not register on the platform compensatii.gov.md by November 28 can still register, but will receive compensations starting from the following month. If the application is submitted after the 25th of the month, compensations will be granted beginning with the next month.
For questions related to the registration process, the toll-free call center number 0 8000 5000 is available (Monday–Friday, 08:00–18:00).
