Energy Ministry: Commercial fuel stocks have increased in recent days

Over the past four days, more than 10,600 tonnes of diesel fuel and more than 3,000 tonnes of petrol have been imported through the country’s three main entry points — the Giurgiulești International Free Port and the Ungheni and Leușeni customs points, reports TRIBUNA.

The Ministry of Energy noted that fewer petrol stations are reporting diesel shortages, with their number falling to 21. These stations are operated by companies that do not carry out direct fuel imports.

“In recent days, commercial fuel stocks have increased. They currently amount to approximately 10 days of average diesel consumption and 12 days of average petrol consumption, calculated based on stocks held at warehouses, the Giurgiulești International Free Port and filling stations.

The Ministry of Energy continues to monitor the situation together with market operators and the competent authorities to ensure that the process of replenishing stocks continues and that consumer supplies return to normal in all regions of the country,” the ministry said.
