The Republic of Moldova has officially concluded, yesterday in Brussels, the bilateral screening process that began in July of last year—15 months of thorough analysis comparing national legislation with European standards, during which over 100,000 pages of legislation were reviewed by experts from Moldovan public institutions. The final chapter discussed was Chapter 33 – Financial and Budgetary Provisions, according to TRIBUNA.
Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, expressed gratitude to all those involved in the process.
“What the Republic of Moldova has achieved in just 15 months is a remarkable accomplishment. I thank my colleagues from the Bureau for European Integration and all public servants across state institutions for their daily dedication and the courage they have shown. Together, we have demonstrated that Moldova is a country the EU can trust. Moldova can become an EU member state very soon, if we continue to believe strongly in this goal,” said Cristina Gherasimov.
The bilateral screening sessions took place between July 2024 and September 2025, in Chișinău, Luxembourg, and Brussels.
