“Alternativa” Bloc Conference

The “Alternativa” Electoral Bloc presented its “European Moldova” program. Olga Ursu, a candidate for Parliament representing the bloc, said at a press conference that European integration must be treated as a genuine national project, rather than as an instrument of electoral propaganda.

WatchDog.MD Poll

The WatchDog.MD community and CBS Research sociological research center presented the results of an opinion poll showing that, if parliamentary elections had been held the following Sunday, three political forces would have entered Parliament: the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) — 29.7%; the Patriotic Electoral Bloc — 13.2%; and “Our Party” — 7.5%. Another 26.8% of voters were undecided.

PLDM Statement

The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM), in a statement, strongly condemned “the electoral strategy of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), which uses fear of war as its dominant campaign argument.”

Irina Vlah Questioned

Irina Vlah, president of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova,” was summoned to the Chisinau Police Inspectorate “in a case related to the protest against inflated gas tariffs.” In her support, party activists held an action, describing pressure from the authorities as “the last convulsions of PAS before its defeat on September 28.” Igor Dodon, one of the leaders of the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart of Moldova and Moldova’s Future, also issued a statement in support of Irina Vlah.

Searches in Cahul and Chisinau

Officers of the National Investigations Inspectorate and anti-corruption prosecutors, with the support of masked officers from the Fulger Special Police Brigade, conducted searches at several locations in the south of the country, in Cahul, as part of a criminal case involving voter bribery, illegal financing of political parties, initiative groups and electoral candidates on a large scale, as well as money laundering on an especially large scale allegedly committed by an organized criminal group.

At the same time, the National Anticorruption Center and the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor’s Office conducted several searches in the capital as part of a major criminal case concerning suspicions of illegal financing of political parties under aggravated circumstances.

Vlad Plahotniuc’s Statements

Former Democratic Party leader Vlad Plahotniuc, who was due to be extradited to the Republic of Moldova, issued a new statement from Athens, saying that “after four years of ‘good times,’ citizens are about to decide the country’s future.” He also stated that the PAS government had fallen short compared with the Democratic government he had politically coordinated in virtually every area.

Entry Ban for Irina Vlah

Lithuania imposed a five-year entry ban on Irina Vlah, president of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova.” The politician reacted by calling the decision strange.

Ion Ceban’s Reaction

Ion Ceban, one of the leaders of the “Alternativa” Electoral Bloc, reacted to the poll published by WatchDog.MD and CBS Research, according to which the bloc would fail to pass the electoral threshold in the parliamentary elections, calling it a “court-ordered poll.”

Information from the Bureau for Reintegration Policies

The Bureau for Reintegration Policies (BPR) drew attention to positive developments as well as persistent difficulties faced by Romanian-language educational institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Research and operating under difficult conditions on the left bank of the Dniester and in the municipality of Bender.

According to the institution, for the first time in 15 years, the total number of children enrolled in these schools exceeded 2,000 students — 2,041, to be exact.

Irina Vlah Announces a Victory

Irina Vlah, president of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova,” announced “another victory” for her party: the Court of Appeal ordered the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) to examine the party’s complaint concerning alleged violations by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, a PAS candidate for Parliament.

The politician said that Dorin Recean had no right to use his position as prime minister to impose sanctions on her and that the CEC had no right “to turn a blind eye.”

CUB’s Proposed Program

The “Coalition for Unity and Welfare” (CUB) party launched the national program “A Home for Your Future, at Home,” an initiative aimed at combating the exodus of young people by offering concrete solutions to the housing crisis.

CEC Announcements

The Central Electoral Commission announced that applications for authorization to conduct opinion polls could be submitted to the CEC until September 18, 2025. In the case of exit polls, applications could be submitted no later than September 21, 2025.

“Moldoveni” Alliance Project

The “Moldoveni” Alliance party presented a draft law proposing the elimination of the monopoly held by the National Health Insurance Company, opening the market to competition, and shifting the focus of the healthcare system toward prevention.

Igor Dodon in Cantemir

Socialist Party President and co-chairman of the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart of Moldova and Moldova’s Future, Igor Dodon, met with residents of Cantemir and Leova, discussing the main problems people were facing and possible solutions.

Ion Ceban Meets with Young People

Ion Ceban, one of the leaders of the “Alternativa” Electoral Bloc, met with young people from Chisinau to discuss challenges and opportunities for the younger generation, investment in youth, and the role of young people in the country’s development.

Discussions on the Energy System

The Ministry of Energy’s priorities and progress achieved in the sector were discussed at a meeting of the Sectoral Council for External Assistance in Energy.
