European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib will make her first official visit to the Republic of Moldova on September 11, TRIBUNA reports.

The Commissioner will meet with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, and other members of the Government.

The program includes a demonstration by the Moldova Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team, using equipment provided with EU support, as well as visits to the “La Strada” organization and a refugee accommodation center. Discussions will focus on support for victims of sexual violence and the needs of vulnerable refugees.

At the end of the visit, a joint press conference will be held alongside Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru.
