Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov today participated in the first meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee between the Republic of Moldova and the European Committee of the Regions, TRIBUNA reports.

“We spoke about the stage we have reached in the EU accession process and about the important role that local authorities play in this journey. This format serves as a bridge for dialogue between the mayors of our country and their counterparts from EU member states, allowing us to learn from their experience and better prepare for the opportunities that accession will bring,” Cristina Gherasimov said.

Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov said that Moldova needs well-prepared localities and strong local administrations. European Moldova is being built in Chisinau and Brussels, but above all in our communities, together with the people who know them best.

“Our road to the EU passes through every village and town in Moldova. For people, this means public services tailored to their needs, modern roads and infrastructure, more opportunities, and a better life at home,” Cristina Gherasimov said.
