Moldova HiTech Park - the first advanced technology park in the Republic of Moldova: "It is a major investment in the sustainable economic development of the country"

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Doina Nistor, presented today, during a press conference, together with the head of the Public Property Agency, Roman Cojuhari, the Moldova HiTech Park project, the first park of advanced technologies in the Republic of Moldova, an economic and technological platform of national importance. Moldova HiTech Park is a major investment in the sustainable economic development of the country, which will generate well-paid jobs, support university education based on practical skills and contribute to the growth of a new generation of local entrepreneurs. The park will thus become one of the main pillars of a modern economy, having as its main pillars information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, big data processing, etc., informs TRIBUNA.

“Moldova HiTech Park is an investment in a European, modern and secure Moldova. In a world where results depend on talented people, good ideas and the ability to innovate quickly, we want to build a place that will keep talents at home and offer them modern conditions to create, research and develop businesses”, said Doina Nistor.

“We have already passed the feasibility study stage and have moved on to the implementation stage. Tomorrow we are establishing the company that will manage the park, and from September it will be proposed to offer the official title of industrial park. We are collaborating with MIDR to plan urban planning documents and modify the road junction to meet the requirements of the park and the nearby National Arena. With these secure steps, the Government plans to start construction in 2026”, said the General Director of the Public Property Agency, Roman Cojuhari.

According to projections, starting with 2030, the estimated year of full operation, Moldova HiTech Park will generate at least 21,600 well-paid jobs in leading fields such as IT, engineering, medical services and research, microelectronics and creative industries. By 2052, the estimated net economic impact is over 1.28 billion euros.

Over the next ten years, it is expected to train over 15,000 specialists through partnerships with the Technical University of Moldova, the “Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, as well as international universities.

The value of the mobilized investments amounts to 200 million euros, funds that will be attracted through the European Union Growth Plan, with the participation of the private sector and development partners. These resources will remain in the country and will directly contribute to supporting the national economy.

Moldova HiTech Park is designed as a complete ecosystem that will connect education, science, research and the business environment. The park will be developed on a 50-hectare plot of land in the commune of Stauceni, in the vicinity of the city of Chisinau and the two partner universities.

The park’s configuration will include modern offices, laboratories, university campuses, conference centers and infrastructure for collaboration and innovation. The area will be functionally organized as follows:

60% – offices and IT business
15% – universities
10% – high-tech production
5% – startups and incubators
5% – medical research
5% – student campus.

The project will promote a work style aligned with 21st century standards, integrating energy-efficient buildings, photovoltaic panels, electric mobility and ample green spaces.
