Man of the week: Ion Sula, leader of the European Social Democratic Party

The man of the week is Ion Sula, the leader of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE), who, during a press conference, announced the launch of the draft Declaration on the condemnation of political trasesism, generically entitled “Political parties say NO to trasesism!”, informs TRIBUNA.

The declaration was developed following discussions with several political formations and is proposed for signature by all parties regardless of color. By signing the document, the political formations will undertake to condemn political trasesism in any form, not to allow the abusive use of administrative, budgetary resources and European money for political purposes and in the realization of trasesism.

“Political trasesism is not only a change of party, it is a betrayal of voters’ trust. When politicians, elected by the people, change party, they ignore the promises made to the voters and put their own interests above the public interest. Thus, the will of the electorate is ignored, and the democratic system is put at risk”, declared PSDE president Ion Sula.

According to his words, political pathism undermines our European integration efforts and compromises the credibility of the Republic of Moldova in front of European partners and the international community.

“We are convinced that through the joint effort of citizens, political parties and state institutions, we will succeed in eradicating political trasesism and building a transparent, responsible political system based on respect for the will of the citizens”, concluded the social democratic leader.
