The European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) will participate tomorrow, August 21, in a protest organized in front of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), amid consideration of a proposal to increase natural gas tariffs, TRIBUNA reports.
According to the proposal, the natural gas tariff for household consumers would rise to 20.30 lei per cubic meter, including VAT, representing an increase of approximately 5.88 lei, or around 41%, compared with the current tariff of 14.42 lei before VAT, the party said.
PSDE believes that any potential tariff increase must be justified by clear, verifiable and transparently presented data.
“People need to understand why the tariff is increasing and whether this increase is justified. Citizens have the right to transparency, information and a justified gas tariff.”
Before approving any increase, ANRE must ensure full transparency in the process, publicly disclose all relevant information concerning the formation of the tariff, and provide clear answers to consumers’ questions, the party concluded.
