Over 500 artists from across the country, laureates of the 2026 edition of the national patriotic music festival‑contest “I Sing of You, Homeland and Nation”, gathered in the Parliament Square and offered an exceptional performance. Together, they sang about homeland, nation, and the national values that unite us. The event is part of the series of activities organized by the legislative institution in the context of the International Day of Democracy, TRIBUNA reports.

This year’s gala was held under the theme “Unity through Culture” and brought together choirs, ethno‑folkloric and vocal ensembles, groups, and soloists of various ages. The participants performed patriotic songs and pieces inspired by national traditions and values, accompanied by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Andriano Marian.

“What you are doing is extraordinary. I listened to the pieces and, each time, I feel a sense of pride, responsibility, and patriotism that is conveyed through these voices and talents. As long as we manage to organize such events, our nation will endure,” stated the President of Parliament, Igor Grosu.

During the gala, laureates were designated in several categories, including folk and pop music soloists, choirs, ethno‑folkloric ensembles, and vocal ensembles. The Grand Prize of the Festival was awarded to Sofia Apareci for her interpretation of the song “Trei culori”, with music by Ion Aldea‑Teodorovici and lyrics by Grigore Vieru.

The gala concluded with a joint musical moment in which the artists and the audience performed the song “Du‑mă în Moldova mea”, accompanied by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Andriano Marian.

The national patriotic music festival‑contest “I Sing of You, Homeland and Nation” is part of the national program “Access to Culture”, financed by the Ministry of Culture. It included several stages, with artists selected following concerts organized in Soroca, Comrat, Bălți, Orhei, and Ialoveni, and the regional stages culminating in the Laureates’ Gala at Parliament.

Throughout September, Parliament is carrying out activities dedicated to democracy and participation, aimed at encouraging dialogue, civic engagement, and bringing citizens closer to the institution.
