Igor Dodon, leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), stated that on July 13, 1995, the Republic of Moldova became a member of the Council of Europe, joining one of the most important European organizations dedicated to promoting democracy, the rule of law, and human rights. According to Dodon, over the past 31 years, Moldova has actively participated in the Council of Europe’s structures, including the Parliamentary Assembly, the Committee of Ministers, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, the European Court of Human Rights, and other key institutions, TRIBUNA reports.
“As a member of the delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, I congratulate the citizens of the Republic of Moldova on this anniversary.
I will continue to use the platform of the Council of Europe to promote the truth about the Republic of Moldova, to defend our country’s national interests, the rights and interests of its citizens, and to support dialogue, peace, and respect for democratic principles,” the politician said.
