The State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Corina Alexa, took part in an event dedicated to discussions on taxation. The event served as a platform for dialogue between authorities, tax experts, and representatives of the business community, offering updated information on the new fiscal and customs regulations that entered into force at the beginning of this year, as well as their impact on tax reporting for 2025–2026.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Alexa emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between authorities and the business sector in the context of modernization processes and alignment with European standards: “Fiscal reforms aim to simplify reporting processes, strengthen tax discipline, and increase the level of voluntary compliance, to the benefit of both the state and the business environment. The Ministry of Finance encourages the business community to actively participate in drafting the fiscal and customs policy for 2027, as we are currently collecting proposals. Our goal is to identify solutions through consensus and ensure a gradual transition, including in the context of transposing European Union legislation. I reiterate the ministry’s openness and our readiness to provide support for the correct implementation of the regulatory framework.”
During the Q&A session, the State Secretary provided clarifications regarding the application of the new provisions and tax reporting for the 2025–2026 fiscal period. Discussions focused on the main practical challenges in the fiscal and customs fields, contributing to strengthening dialogue with the business community and increasing predictability in tax administration.
The Ministry of Finance reminds the public that it has launched the process of drafting the fiscal and customs policy for 2027, with the objective of simplifying legislation and creating a clearer and more efficient regulatory framework. All interested parties are invited to submit proposals by 20 February 2026.
