The Republic of Moldova is the only country in Eastern Europe and Eurasia explicitly referenced in the National Security and Department of State Appropriations Act, receiving an allocation of USD 36.5 million to strengthen national security. The law was adopted by the U.S. Congress and signed by Donald Trump, TRIBUNA reports.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this decision reflects the high level of trust and the maturity of the security partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States, as well as the United States’ continued commitment to supporting Moldova in a regional environment marked by multiple challenges.
The funds will be directed toward key areas, including:
• energy security;
• cybersecurity;
• resilience strengthening;
• other national‑security‑related priorities.
For the Republic of Moldova, this support confirms that its efforts to strengthen peace, stability, and national security capacities are recognized and backed by strategic partners. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to continuing close cooperation with the United States for the safety of citizens and regional stability.
