The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) strongly condemns the attacks by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which last night also affected an area in the immediate vicinity of the border with the Republic of Moldova, near the “Tudora (Republic of Moldova) – Starokazachye (Ukraine)” border crossing point, TRIBUNA reports.

“As a result of the attacks, people were killed and injured, including Ukrainian border guards. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wish the injured a speedy recovery.

In addition, during the day yesterday, a drone was recorded falling in the vicinity of the village of Mihăilenii Vechi, Rîșcani district. Fragments of the drone were found at the site; its characteristics are similar to those of a ‘Geran’-type UAV, and the crash resulted in an explosion,” the ministry said.

The MFA emphasized that the Republic of Moldova stands in solidarity with Ukraine and condemns attacks that endanger human lives and the security of settlements in the border area.

“Military actions taking place in the immediate vicinity of our country pose a direct threat to the security of the Republic of Moldova and its citizens,” the MFA stated.
