The Standing Bureau of Parliament has approved the Decision establishing the convening of plenary sittings and their agenda for the period 3–5 February 2026.
The opening sitting of the spring session will take place on Tuesday, 3 February, with the participation of the Speakers of the Baltic States’ parliaments.
During the plenary sitting on Thursday, 5 February, MPs will examine in first reading several legislative initiatives. Two EU‑labelled draft laws will be debated: one concerning the use of confiscated assets for social or public purposes, and another on preventing and combating sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children. MPs will also examine a draft law on the costs of judicial expertise, as well as on commercial activities involving illicit devices and semiconductor product topographies. The agenda also includes the draft decision on exempting from import duties a bus donated by the Czech Republic to the city of Călărași, along with amendments to the Fiscal Code and the Audiovisual Media Services Code.
Parliament is set to ratify the treaty concluded between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Japan, providing financial support for modernizing production equipment at the “Teleradio‑Moldova” Company. MPs will also examine the ratification of the Agreement under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction (adopted in New York on 19 June 2023), as well as Moldova’s accession to the Convention on the Grant of European Patents.
Also on 5 February, MPs will examine a simple motion regarding the policies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, submitted by a group of opposition MPs.
The 2026 spring session begins on 2 February, according to a directive signed by the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu. Under the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, the spring session begins in February and cannot extend beyond the end of July.
