Ordinary Autumn Session of Parliament 2025 Concludes on December 31

The Ordinary Autumn Session of the Parliament for 2025 concludes on December 31. During the final plenary sitting of Parliament, MPs voted on a draft decision setting the date for the end of the session, TRIBUNA reports.

Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu thanked fellow MPs and the staff of the Secretariat of the legislative institution for their work. “In 2025, we endured and protected our country, because together we worked and proved to ourselves, first of all, that we are strong, that we have determination, and that the Republic of Moldova deserves to be part of the great European family. If 2025 was a year of resilience, then I wish for 2026 to be a year of consolidation and development. Moldova is no longer at the stage of ‘what it wants to be,’ but at the stage of ‘having the courage to become.’ The road is not easy, but the direction is clear. Happy New Year to everyone!” the Speaker stated.

At the final plenary sitting of the Ordinary Autumn Session 2025, MPs were greeted and caroled by two artistic ensembles. These were the children’s choir “Vitejii” of the “Mihai Viteazul” Lyceum in Chișinău, conducted by Hierodeacon Father Gurie (Anton) Dumbravă, a dedicated mentor of young talents. The more than 60 pupils, aged between 9 and 11, have won awards at various national and international competitions.

Another outstanding moment was provided by the “Doina Codrului” choir from the village of Lozova, Strășeni district, conducted by Ruslan Bardier, singer and vocal teacher. Founded in 1908 and boasting an impressive 117-year history, the choir is one of the most representative amateur artistic ensembles in the Republic of Moldova. Over time, its activity has been recognized with numerous distinctions and awards at national and international competitions, including the titles of “People’s Choir” and “Model Choir.” The choir includes members of true dynasties of choristers originating from Lozova.

According to the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, the legislature meets in two ordinary sessions per year. The spring session begins in February and may not extend beyond the end of July. The autumn session begins in September and may not extend beyond the end of December.
