President Maia Sandu held a dialogue with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora, focused on improving public policies aimed at return and reintegration in the Republic of Moldova. The event gathered more than one hundred participants, including representatives of central and local public authorities, Moldovan ambassadors in countries with large Moldovan communities, as well as diaspora members from several states and various professional fields, TRIBUNA reports.
The discussions centered on reintegration policies, the concrete experiences of those who have returned or are involved in diaspora-related work, and the identification of solutions that can make the return process easier and more efficient. Participants addressed issues such as access to services, information, administrative support, social and economic integration, and the important role of cultural events and civic initiatives organized within the diaspora.
President Maia Sandu emphasized that the state has the responsibility to create clear and welcoming conditions for those who wish to return home, and that constant dialogue with the diaspora is essential for adapting public policies to people’s real needs.
An important topic of discussion was the role of the Moldovan diaspora in the country’s European path. President Maia Sandu highlighted that Moldovans abroad actively contribute to promoting European values and to building a positive image of the Republic of Moldova in the countries where they live, serving as an important bridge between Moldova and its external partners.
The event was organized by the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with the Bureau for Relations with the Diaspora, and provided a platform for dialogue between authorities and the diaspora to identify solutions that encourage citizens’ return and reintegration at home.
