605,538 households (around 1,216,000 citizens) will benefit from heating compensation during the heating season. More than half of all beneficiaries will receive the maximum compensation — 800 lei for solid fuels and 1,000 lei for other energy sources, TRIBUNA reports.
“The Ajutor la contor program supports pensioners, persons with disabilities, young people, children, and those with very low incomes. In addition to this program, we also have a long-term vision — we will continue the Eco Voucher and Casa Verde programs, which provide for the replacement of household appliances and the thermal insulation of buildings,” said Minister of Labour and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru.
Most households will benefit from compensation for solid fuels — about 287,000, followed by natural gas, thermal energy, and electricity. More than 53% of households will receive maximum compensation. 23% will receive compensation between 500 and 1,000 lei, while 24% will receive the minimum compensation of 500 lei. Payments will be made monthly throughout the heating season.
Citizens who provided bank or social card details in their application will receive payments today. Others can collect the allocated amounts starting Monday, December 15, at post offices across the country, upon presenting their identity card.
The application process for November compensation ended on November 28, but registration continues — households can apply to the government program via compensatii.gov.md. For questions regarding registration, the toll-free call center number 0 8000 5000 is available (Monday–Friday, 08:00–18:00).
Eligibility criteria include the cumulative value of property shares owned by household members, total income from dividends and bank interest, average historical consumption, household composition, member status, and type of heating source.
Additional verification measures remain the same as in the previous season. Data will be checked against information systems of several institutions: the State Tax Service, the National Social Insurance House, the National Council for Determining Disability and Work Capacity, the Public Services Agency, energy providers, the National Employment Agency, universities, and banking institutions. Based on this analysis, the system will calculate individualized compensation for each household.
