At its meeting today, the Central Electoral Commission approved the calendar program for organizing and conducting the elections for the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia, scheduled for November 15, 2026, TRIBUNA reports.

The document sets out the actions required to organize and conduct the elections, the deadlines for their implementation, as well as the responsibilities of the main participants involved in the electoral process, in accordance with their respective powers. Once established, the lower-level electoral bodies, public authorities, and other entities involved in organizing the elections will receive the program for information and implementation.

According to the calendar program, the electoral period for the Gagauzia Governor (Bashkan) elections will begin on September 3, 2026.

The Central Electoral Council of Gagauzia is to be established by September 16, 2026, while documents for registration as an electoral contestant may be submitted no later than October 6, 2026.

The electoral campaign will begin on October 16, 2026.
