On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with the NGO “Amnesty International Moldova,” organized a roundtable and inaugurated the exhibition “Years Pass, Rights Remain”, dedicated to the rights of elderly people. The discussions brought together law students, MPs from the Human Rights and Interethnic Relations Committee, civil society representatives, as well as several of the exhibition’s protagonists, TRIBUNA reports.
The debates focused on the challenges faced by elderly people and the prospects for strengthening public policies in the field of protecting and promoting their rights. The participation of the exhibition’s protagonists offered a personal and authentic perspective on the experiences of Moldova’s elderly, contributing to a deeper understanding of their needs and aspirations.
The exhibition “Years Pass, Rights Remain” showcases ten photographs of elderly people from Moldova, accompanied by fragments of their life stories, offering a sensitive and realistic portrayal of the realities they face.
Throughout the day, participants visited the exhibition, joined the thematic discussion “The Rights of Elderly People – Between Reality and Perspective,” and took part in a guided tour of Parliament, aimed at familiarizing them with the legislative body’s activity and democratic processes.
