Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu concluded his visit to Brussels with a meeting with Moldovan citizens living in Belgium and Luxembourg. During the meeting, internal transformations in the Republic of Moldova were discussed—reforms aimed at improving quality of life and bringing the country closer to the European Union, TRIBUNA reports.
The Head of Government spoke about ongoing reforms, primarily focused on economic growth. He also presented opportunities for investing back home and government programs supporting return. In April 2025, the Governmental Return Assistance Service was launched, along with the Return Support Guide. Online job fairs are being organized, and a dedicated program supports the return of graduates. Additional planned measures include strengthening the capacity of local authorities to assist returnees, developing a Guide for the inclusion of returning children, and creating a virtual assistant for the Bureau for Relations with the Diaspora.
“Regardless of distance, our community remains united by the same goal. We all want Moldova to be a good home for those who choose to live here, and a strong state that protects the interests of Moldovans wherever they may be,” emphasized Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for each diaspora citizen’s contribution to promoting the country’s image: “We have here an active Moldovan community that closely follows developments and gets involved in advancing the development path chosen by the Republic of Moldova,” he added.
Approximately 15,000 Moldovans are currently living in Belgium and Luxembourg.
