Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Søren Jensen. The officials discussed Moldova’s European integration path and the reforms implemented by the Government to foster economic growth and improve citizens’ quality of life, TRIBUNA reports.
The Prime Minister thanked Danish authorities for their support in achieving Moldova’s national goal of EU accession, highlighting cooperation in security, countering disinformation, and the energy sector.
This year, Denmark allocated over €5 million to help Moldovans pay energy bills and financially supported the launch of the new electronic ID card. Additionally, a new €20 million technical assistance program was announced, targeting defense, cybersecurity, hybrid threat protection, emergency management, and institutional support for Moldova’s EU accession process.
The officials also discussed Moldova’s attractive investment climate and the potential to draw Danish entrepreneurs. One Danish company already operates in Moldova’s pork industry, and next week, representatives from 10 Danish companies will visit Chișinău to establish business contacts.
Key areas for future collaboration include IT, tourism infrastructure, digital health, waste management, and renewable energy — sectors where Denmark is a recognized European leader.
