Today, September 15th, marks the International Day of Democracy. On this occasion, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), in partnership with the National Inspectorate for Public Security (INSP) of the General Police Inspectorate, conducted a wide-reaching voter information campaign, also aligned with the upcoming parliamentary elections on September 28th, 2025.
In the municipalities of Chișinău and Bălți, as well as across all districts of the country, CEC officials and INSP officers distributed informative materials to voters. These materials emphasize the importance of participating in the elections, each individual’s responsibility to exercise their voting rights, and the active role of citizens in promoting a fair and transparent electoral process by combating all forms of electoral corruption.
The International Day of Democracy, established by the United Nations, is an opportunity to reflect on democratic values and how each of us contributes to strengthening them. Democracy is not just a principle—it is a practice of engagement, responsibility, and respect for fundamental rights and freedoms.
Through today’s actions, the CEC and INSP highlight the importance of interinstitutional cooperation and reaffirm their strong commitment to organizing free, fair, and transparent elections. This collaboration demonstrates the shared responsibility of state institutions in consolidating democracy and strengthening public trust in the electoral process.
