The protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Cameroon was signed at the United Nations headquarters by the permanent representatives of the two countries to the UN, Ambassadors Victor Moraru and Tommo Monthe, TRIBUNA informs.
According to a press release on this occasion, Victor Moraru and Tommo Monthe had an exchange of views on how to develop bilateral relations, as well as on intensifying Moldovan-Cameroonian cooperation within the UN. In the context, the two officials stressed the imperative of conjugating efforts to ensure full respect for the UN Charter and for the fundamental principles of international law, in particular of sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence and non-interference in domestic affairs.
Following the ceremony, the permanent representatives of the two countries sent a joint letter to the General Secretary of the United Nations to inform the member states of UN on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Cameroon.
We recall that the Republic of Moldova established diplomatic relations with 143 states of the world, the first document of this type was signed on 29 August 1991 with Romania.
