MP Alexandr Stoianoglo announced today at a briefing that he has decided to run as an independent candidate for the position of Governor of Gagauzia, TRIBUNA reports.
“The question is not which position is higher, but where I can do more. I am ready to take responsibility for the executive authority of Gagauzia. Being governor means having a team, setting priorities, and taking responsibility,” he said.
According to Stoianoglo, relations between Comrat and Chisinau should be based on respect for the autonomy’s powers and on solving practical problems.
The politician also said that he would later publish his program and the sources of funding for the proposals he puts forward.
Alexandr Stoianoglo said he will not resign his parliamentary mandate but will suspend his parliamentary activity during the election campaign, in accordance with the law.
