Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has requested a comprehensive package of measures by October 15 to simplify the activities of small entrepreneurs and artisan producers, TRIBUNA reports.

The official said that small producers and artisan entrepreneurs need more support and less bureaucracy.

“Together with Alexandru Manciu, director of ANSA, I discussed with several local producers the problems they face every day and what we can simplify. I wanted to hear their recommendations directly from the source, rather than from reports read in an office.

We need simpler and more proportionate rules. A small producer of homemade preserves should be able to supply a school, kindergarten, or local hospital more easily and legally. Today, a certificate can end up costing more than the delivery itself. Likewise, a small cheese producer should not have to undergo two inspections per season, especially after many years of demonstrating their reliability. And anyone who wants to test a new recipe in their own kitchen before setting up an LLC should be encouraged to try, not discouraged by paperwork.

I asked Mr. Alexandru Manciu to come forward by October 15 with a comprehensive package of measures to simplify the activities of small entrepreneurs and artisan producers. Today, overly complicated rules often end up favoring imports and industrial, highly processed products at the expense of small local producers — including those producing organically,” the prime minister said.

Vasile Tofan said that the state should be a partner to those who work and build their businesses here, at home. Rules should protect consumers without placing unnecessary burdens on those who want to produce, grow, and create jobs.
