Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu took part in the high‑level meeting titled “Ensuring Peace in Ukraine: Guarantees, Recovery and Prospects”, held in Gdańsk, Poland. The event brought together European officials for an exchange of views on security guarantees for Ukraine, the reconstruction process, the role of EU enlargement, and the measures needed to strengthen regional resilience, TRIBUNA reports.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Munteanu stressed that Ukraine’s reconstruction must not be seen solely as an economic or infrastructure‑focused effort, but as a strategic security project for the whole of Europe. He underlined that the Republic of Moldova will remain an active partner of Ukraine, including through the development of regional connectivity, strengthening transport routes, and supporting energy security.
“A sustainable recovery of Ukraine requires long‑term security, connectivity and solidarity. The Republic of Moldova will continue contributing to the stability and resilience of the entire region. Supporting Ukraine means supporting European security and regional stability, including that of the Republic of Moldova,” Prime Minister Munteanu stated.
The discussions also focused on the need for predictable financing mechanisms for Ukraine’s reconstruction, more effective coordination of international support, and the strengthening of good‑governance and transparency standards throughout the recovery process.
