Prime Minister at the SEECP Summit: European integration is already improving the daily lives of our citizens

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu participated in the summit marking the 30th anniversary of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), held in Sofia, Bulgaria. During the plenary session titled “Strengthening Regional Unity for a Stable, Secure and Sustainable Future — 30 Years of Partnership and Progress,” the Head of Government spoke about the importance of regional cooperation, strengthening security and advancing the European path of the Republic of Moldova, TRIBUNA reports.

The Prime Minister stressed that SEECP has become an important platform for political dialogue, solidarity and regional responsibility, contributing to strengthening trust and stability in South-East Europe. Over the years, several SEECP participants have successfully joined the European Union, while others continue to move steadily along this path.

“SEECP has become a pillar of regional responsibility, solidarity and political dialogue. Thirty years of SEECP have clearly demonstrated the value of dialogue. The coming years must show us the strength of solidarity translated into concrete actions. Cooperation remains one of the strongest foundations for building trust and stability in our region,” the Prime Minister said.

In his speech, the Prime Minister also addressed the European path of the Republic of Moldova, noting that the country has managed to move forward despite external interference, hybrid threats, energy pressure and economic challenges. The Head of Government emphasized that European integration is already bringing tangible benefits to citizens, including through the implementation of the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) system and the full implementation of the “Roam Like at Home” regime — measures that bring citizens, businesses and institutions closer to the European family.

“European integration is already improving the daily lives of our citizens. Our citizens voted for Europe, and we are determined to turn this choice into reality. Our goal is clear and unwavering: to become a member state of the European Union and contribute to a united, secure, prosperous and peaceful Europe,” the Prime Minister stated.
