A group of deputies will carry out a study visit to the United States of America, during which they will participate in a professional exchange program.The delegation includes deputies Stela Macari, Tatiana Rotari, Angela Cutasevici, Gabriela Cuneva, Ala Ursu-Antoci, Alexandr Berlinschii, and Alexandru Verșinin.
During the visit, the parliamentarians will have activities in Washington, D.C. and in the state of North Carolina, aimed at facilitating the exchange of best practices in areas relevant to legislative work and strengthening cooperation with representatives of U.S. public authorities.
In Washington, the parliamentary delegation will meet with senators, representatives of the House of Representatives, and members of the U.S. Congress. They will also hold discussions with members of the Congressional Moldova Friendship Group.
According to the visit agenda, in North Carolina the delegation will meet with Secretary of State Elaine Marshall. The program also includes visits to the North Carolina General Assembly, the Department of Commerce and Economic Development, the Supreme Court, and the State Board of Elections.
The study visit takes place under the “Open World” Academic and Professional Exchange Program, funded and organized by the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, in cooperation with the American Councils for International Education in Moldova. The program aims to strengthen cooperation between the United States and the Republic of Moldova by promoting mutual understanding, professional exchange in various fields of interest, and dialogue with American political leaders.
