Elena Grițco, MP from Partidul Nostru, criticized the Government for failing to present the administrative‑territorial reform concept by the previously announced deadline. Authorities had promised that the document would be made public between late February and early March, but as of 1 April it had still not been released, TRIBUNA reports.
During a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defence and Public Order, Grițco highlighted the delay and requested clear explanations from the State Chancellery. She stressed that the reform concept must be published so that all stakeholders can review the plans and submit recommendations or adjustments.
Alexandru Iacub, Deputy Secretary‑General of the State Chancellery, acknowledged the delay, saying the initial timeline had been “too ambitious.” He explained that the process was extended due to broader public consultations. According to him, the document is “99% ready” and will be presented soon by the Secretary‑General of the Government, though he could not provide a precise date. He indicated that May is the likely deadline.
