The President of Parliament, Igor Grosu, held a meeting in Brussels with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, during which the disbursement of the second tranche of the EU Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova—amounting to 189 million euros—was announced, TRIBUNA reports.
“These funds will be directed toward concrete projects that will improve the daily lives of our citizens: greater energy security, better public services, investments in the health system, and in the development of our communities,” the head of the legislature noted.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the progress achieved by the Republic of Moldova on its path to European integration, as well as reform priorities in key sectors.
Also yesterday in Brussels, technical negotiations were opened for the last three clusters of chapters: ‘Competitiveness and inclusive growth,’ ‘Green agenda and connectivity,’ and ‘Resources, agriculture and cohesion.’
“This is further proof that, as a country, we are fulfilling our commitments and moving in the right direction. The modernization we see across the country in recent years is the result of work done at home, at all levels of administration, as well as of the strong partnership with the European Union, which continues to support the Republic of Moldova in its transformation,” emphasized the President of Parliament, Igor Grosu.
