The Parliament’s Legislative Program for 2026 Has Been Approved

The Parliament’s Legislative Program for the year 2026 was approved during yesterday’s plenary session, TRIBUNA reports.

The document was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Chancellery. Its purpose is to institutionalize a rigorous planning mechanism, align the legislative agenda with that of the executive, improve the quality of the normative framework, and strengthen citizens’ trust in the law‑making process through increased transparency.

The Program includes 354 draft normative acts, of which 314 draft laws are provided for in the National Program for the Accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union for 2025–2029. In addition, this year Members of Parliament will examine the ratification of 18 international treaties, as well as a series of acts resulting from the implementation of Constitutional Court rulings. The agenda also includes 48 annual reports from public authorities and institutions.

The draft decision approving the Parliament’s Legislative Program for 2026 further stipulates that, at the Government’s request, MPs will give priority to draft normative acts prepared for the purpose of harmonizing national legislation with European Union law.

It is worth noting that the European Commission’s Enlargement Report, published on 4 November 2025, explicitly calls on the Parliament to adopt annual legislative plans. These are necessary to streamline the legislative process and ensure regulation across all areas of social relations, eliminating legislative gaps and enabling strategic planning of parliamentary activity.
