The Police continue their efforts to prevent and combat drug trafficking, as well as to reduce the risks associated with this phenomenon. Through operational activities, public information campaigns, and online monitoring, officers aim to identify early attempts to lure individuals—especially young people—into the consumption, distribution, transportation, or promotion of narcotic substances, including via social networks and digital platforms, TRIBUNA reports.
Between 15 and 21 December, at the national level, the Police removed narcotic substances worth a total of 7,484,838 lei from circulation as a result of investigations and searches.
During this period, 147 administrative cases and 44 criminal cases were initiated. The actions led to the seizure of predominantly PVP (“salt”), hashish, mephedrone, marijuana (final product), and cocaine.
“We reiterate that prevention begins with information, responsibility, and community involvement.
We urge parents, teachers, and citizens to actively contribute to protecting children and young people by reporting any suspicious behavior or activity.
Together we can help build a safer, drug‑free community”, the Police stated.
