President Maia Sandu has firmly condemned the latest violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, TRIBUNA reports.
“I firmly condemn the latest violation of our airspace. A drone-missile exploded near the village of Crocmaz, in southern Moldova. This incident is a direct consequence of the war waged by Russia and puts us all at risk.
The risk to the lives of people in our region is real and growing. It must stop,” the head of state said.
We note that yesterday, the Police were alerted to a powerful explosion in the village of Crocmaz, which resulted in a vegetation fire. An on-site investigation established that the explosion occurred at a height of approximately 2.5 meters, following the aircraft’s impact with a tree in a wooded area. No casualties were reported, while fragments of the aircraft were scattered over a wide area, causing damage to several households in the village. The fragments found display characteristics similar to components of a guided missile, indicating that the aircraft may have been a “drone-missile.”
