The Bureau for European Integration (BIE) organized public discussions on updating the National Programme for the Republic of Moldova’s Accession to the European Union.
The event gathered over 60 representatives from civil society, the business sector, academia, as well as central and local public authorities. Participants reviewed the provisions of the current version of the Programme and proposed ways to improve and streamline it.
The National Programme for Moldova’s Accession to the European Union for the period 2025–2029, approved by the Government on May 28, 2025, will be updated annually based on recent developments on the European agenda, including the reception of recommendations from the European Commission in the context of the yearly publication of the Enlargement Report for Moldova.
The NPA is the key document that defines priorities, actions, and the necessary dynamics for planning and monitoring the fulfillment of commitments undertaken during accession negotiations. Its main objective is to prepare the Republic of Moldova to become a member state of the European Union through a broad process of legislative and institutional harmonization. The Programme covers all 35 negotiation chapters, grouped into six thematic clusters.
