The delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is taking part in the autumn session of PACE, held from September 29 to October 3 in Strasbourg, French Republic. The meeting is dedicated to discussing current issues, including the protection of journalists in Gaza and the release of Ukrainian journalists held in the Russian Federation, support for the rule of law in Georgia, new threats from Russia to European democracies, the political crisis in Serbia, artificial intelligence, migration, and more, reports TRIBUNA.
The delegation, led by MP Ion Groza, includes parliamentarians Natalia Davidovici, Andrian Cheptonar, and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Vlad Batrîncea.
During the autumn session, opinions will also be discussed on the draft Convention for the establishment of the International Claims Resolution Commission for Ukraine, as well as the Council of Europe’s draft Convention on audiovisual co-productions in the form of series. Additionally, a new Secretary General of PACE will be elected for a five-year term.
It is worth noting that, on the sidelines of the autumn session, the PACE Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe will also convene. In this context, the appointment of a second co-rapporteur for the Republic of Moldova is planned, along with an exchange of views on the recent parliamentary elections held in our country.
The Republic of Moldova became a member state of the Council of Europe in 1995.
