The Central Electoral Commission has announced that, in order to ensure the proper conduct of the parliamentary elections on 28 September 2025 and to guarantee the safety of voters, electoral officials, and the overall electoral process, the addresses of several polling stations designated for citizens with voting rights from localities on the left bank of the Dniester have been changed, reports TRIBUNA.
This decision follows a notification from the General Inspectorate of Police, which warned of significant security risks in the security zone, including potential bomb threats and provocations on election day. In such cases, intervention by specialized teams would be difficult, as access to the security zone requires approval from the Joint Control Commission—a process that is practically impossible to complete in a short timeframe. Moreover, any suspension of the electoral process on election day cannot exceed two hours.
Taking into account the views of public entities responsible for reintegration, security, and public order, the Commission deemed it necessary to relocate the following polling stations:
- stations no. 37/3 and 37/4 from Varnița village, Anenii Noi district — to Anenii Noi town;
- station no. 37/6 from Hagimus village, Căușeni district — to Căușeni town;
- station no. 37/7 from Cocieri commune, Dubăsari district — to Chișinău municipality;
- station no. 37/8 from Doroțcaia village, Dubăsari district — to Chișinău municipality.
Additionally, to efficiently manage potential risks related to bomb alerts or other provocations or incidents, the Commission has identified preliminary backup locations for the remaining polling stations serving voters from the left bank:
- station no. 37/2 from Gura Bîcului village — to Calfa commune, Anenii Noi district;
- station no. 37/5 from Copanca village — to Chircăiești village, Căușeni district;
- station no. 37/9 from Sănătăuca village — to Cunicea village, Florești district;
- stations no. 37/10 and 37/11 from Rezina town — to Cinișeuți village, Rezina district;
- station no. 37/12 from Răscăieți commune — to Ștefan Vodă town, Ștefan Vodă district.
The Central Electoral Commission reaffirms its firm commitment to organizing free, fair, and secure elections. All measures are taken to ensure that every citizen of the Republic of Moldova can exercise their right to vote in conditions of full calm, order, and safety.
