The political scientist Dionis Cenuşa believes that the desire to have a minority government is very low among the parties that have been voted for the future Parliament. In an interview for TRIBUNA, he was asked if we may have a minority government in Moldova.
“Practically, a minority government will always depend on the ability of the ruling party to negotiate and get compromises. Such transactions require the ability to negotiate and involve concessions, but in the Moldovan realities, such negotiations end with the division of state institutions, opaque negotiations and dubious political transactions. The current political composition eliminates any possibility of having a minority government in general because neither PDM nor PSRM wants to rule in solitude and weakness, and the Bloc NOW refuses to support any of these. In other words, only if a political party holds the majority of deputies, it will be launched in a government act, “Cenușă said.
