The civil coalition “for free and fair elections” presented today the II Report on the monitoring of parliamentary elections in terms of the integration of youth and people with disabilities, implemented by the Eastern European Fund and the National Youth Council.
As TRIBUNA reports, the Chairman of the EEF, Andrei Brighidin, who said that all parties received a request for information on the number of persons with disabilities included in the list of candidates.
“We received information only from 3 competitors out of 15. People with disabilities were included in their lists of NDA, ACUM and PCRM. The bottom line is that these persons with disabilities are rarely represented in the lists of electoral competitors. In their election programs provided for the needs of this category of people, PDM, PSRM, PN, and PL PDSN,” said Brighidin, who.
In turn, in connection with the participation of young people in the electoral process, the Chairman of the National Youth Council Valeriu Dragalin noted that about 30% of the population with the right to vote are young people.
“There are only three parties, which we can say that there are young people in their electoral list. This PPDP, EPZ and PR. They have more than 40% of candidates – young people. It should be noted that young people do not occupy leading positions in the lists. Only NP and PPDP have 7 young people, whose position is higher than No. 15 in the list. The block ACUM PL’s for 4 of these young men. The PDM is the only one on the list who does not have a single young man in the first 15 positions. The average age of young people is 31. As for candidates in single-member districts, most of them are from NP and PSH-18. However, young people run in constituencies where the party doesn’t have much of a chance. Only 6 parties have at least one priority in the programs for young people, and most of them – the PDM,” Dragalin concluded.
