Today, we present Leonard Macari, an independent candidate in  Western Europe uninominal constituency no.50.

Leonard Macari was born on 13 September 1978 and is a native of Telenesti.

In a post on a social networking site, Leonard Macari mentions that he is “a patriot of the country” and “demonstrated not only through talks on the eve of election but through facts and actions, in all 18 years since he is a migrant and is part of the large Moldovan diaspora in the European Union “

I am a member of the Diaspora and I want to represent the Diaspora in the  Legislature of the Republic of Moldova because I think we deserve this right.I want to introduce me to all Moldovans in the EU to know and feel free to ask questions about my vision of how the diaspora should be represented in the Legislative and how to contribute together for the development of our country and last but not least, how the Moldovan authorities contribute to this and support us in order to increase the Republic of Moldova together. I am settled in town Padua, Italy, since 2001; I am a law laureate, but I worked in Italy in various positions as you all did; I’m the vice-president of Moldovan Association “Moldavi nel Veneto”, one of the most active associations of Moldovans in the Veneto region – the first place in Italy according to the number of settled Moldovan citizens;I am an athlete and I have organized the biggest sports events in Italy (championships between sports teams of Moldovans from different cities in Italy: tennis, free wrestling, football, chess …), organized every 6 months; I am an Orthodox Christian and I love my people, traditions and religion, which I respect and promote in my family;Like all of you, I left the country with the need to find a better job and living conditions, and I think that Moldova needs a change in the political class, which we can only do together, not being indifferent ” he wrote.

According to Macari, diaspora deserves to have a voice and has the right to be heard.
