The Military Parade marking the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova will take place on August 27 in Great National Assembly Square. The event is part of the program dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, TRIBUNA reports, citing the Ministry of Defense.
According to the commander of the Military Parade, Brigadier General Ion Ojog, more than 2,000 service members from the National Army, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Intelligence and Security Service, the Ministry of Justice, and the State Protection and Guard Service will participate in the parade. In addition, 150 veterans of the war for the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will march in two formations.
At the same time, flag-bearing groups made up of service members from Romania, Ukraine, Lithuania, Italy, Poland, France, the Czech Republic, the United States, and other countries will participate in the parade in Great National Assembly Square.
General Ojog noted that more than 100 units of military and special equipment will also be involved in the parade. The equipment was acquired both from the national defense budget and through assistance programs provided by external partners. It includes infantry small arms, self-propelled artillery systems, anti-aircraft systems, national airspace monitoring and protection systems, and special-purpose military vehicles operated by the National Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Ministry of Defense announced that joint training sessions will be held on August 11, 13, 18, and 20, from 08:00 to 10:00, under the bridge on Hâncești Highway in the Telecentru district, along the section between Lech Kaczyński Street and Sprâncenoaia Street.
General rehearsals will take place on August 21 and 25 in Great National Assembly Square, from 22:00 to 00:00.
Training involving military and special equipment will take place on August 11 and 13 along the national M3 road, on the section between the bridge interchange and the L458 road and Băcioii Noi Street, from 09:00 to 12:00. The Ministry of Defense urges motorists and residents in the respective areas to take the training activities into account and, where appropriate, choose alternative routes.
