In May, deputies convened for four plenary sessions with a cumulative duration of almost 28 hours. During these sessions, Parliament adopted 21 normative acts — 17 laws and 4 decisions, TRIBUNA reports.
Of the total acts adopted, four were drafted to harmonize national legislation with that of the European Union. Another seven are part of the National Plan for Moldova’s Accession to the European Union 2025–2029.
Additionally, during May, deputies voted in the first reading on 25 draft normative acts, while 40 new acts entered the legislative procedure.
Among the measures adopted last month:
- Annual allocation of 3,000 lei in June for children with disabilities.
- Tripling of the annual material assistance for World War II veterans to 30,000 lei.
- Ratification of an agreement with the Slovak Republic, allowing Moldovans residing there to benefit from pensions and other social benefits.
- Introduction of measures for rapid state intervention in alert or energy crisis situations.
- First-reading approval of initiatives to create emergency stocks of petroleum products and to exempt imports of wind turbines and energy storage equipment from customs duties.
- Adoption of a declaration on combating smoking and protecting young people’s right to a healthy life.
- Denunciation of two agreements concluded under the CIS platform.
Before being voted in plenary, draft acts were examined in permanent committee meetings, which convened 42 times last month. These produced 42 reports, 15 co-reports, and 97 opinions.
In the same period, Parliament organized 11 public consultations and 6 public hearings, addressing both legislative initiatives and current issues.
