The Parliamentary Association Committee Republic of Moldova – European Union (PAC RM–EU) is meeting today in Brussels for its 17th session, with the Moldovan Parliament delegation taking part. The event is co‑chaired by Marcel Spatari, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration, and MEP Siegfried Mureșan.
Discussions focus on the state of Moldova’s EU accession negotiations, including justice reform. Participants include Gert Jan Koopman, Director‑General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission; Cristina Gherasimov, Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration (joining online); and Stela Braniște, Deputy Secretary‑General of the Ministry of Justice.
The agenda also covers Moldova’s economic developments, the EU Growth Plan, and the future Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034. Alexei Buzu, Secretary‑General of the Moldovan Government (online), and Cristian Pîrvulescu, Co‑Chair of the EU–Moldova Civil Society Platform, will join the exchange of views.
Security, resilience, and the energy sector will be addressed in discussions with Audrone Perkauskiene, Deputy Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service, and Dorin Junghietu, Moldova’s Minister of Energy.
At the close of the meeting, members of the PAC RM–EU will adopt the Final Declaration and recommendations.
The Moldovan parliamentary delegation, led by Committee Co‑Chair Marcel Spatari, includes MPs Sergiu Lazarencu, Gaik Vartanean, Ana Calinici, Alexandr Trubca, and Elena Grițco.
The PAC RM–EU is the parliamentary forum established under the EU–Moldova Association Agreement. It brings together members appointed by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the European Parliament and convenes twice a year, alternating between Chișinău and Brussels.
