- December 2025 — by about 0.9%

Monthly inflation
In January 2026, compared to December 2025, average consumer prices increased by 0.9% (Table 1, Figure 2), driven by higher prices for:
- food products — up by about 1.6%, contributing 0.6 percentage points;
- non‑food goods — up by about 0.4%, contributing 0.1 percentage points;
- services provided to the population — up by about 0.7%, contributing 0.2 percentage points.
During the period under review, the most notable price increases among food products were recorded for:
- vegetables — +12.2%,
- bread — +1.6%,
- fruits — +1.3%.
At the same time, in January 2026, a more significant price decrease was recorded for eggs — −0.4%.
Among non‑food goods, the most notable increase was registered for medicines — +1.2%.
Meanwhile, the month also saw a decrease in prices for fuel and petroleum products — −0.6%
(including diesel — −1.4%, petrol — −0.9%).
Among services, in January 2026 compared to December 2025, the most significant increases were recorded for:
- medical services — +0.7%,
- passenger transport services — +0.7%
(including air transport — +1.0%).
Annual inflation
Average consumer prices in January 2026 compared to January 2025 (last 12 months) increased by 4.8%.
In annual terms:
- food prices increased by 6.2%,
- non‑food goods by 1.8%,
- services by 7.2%.
Among food products, the most significant annual increases were recorded for:
- eggs — +23.2%,
- fruits — +21.0%,
- vegetable oil — +10.1%,
- bread — +5.7%,
- milk and dairy products — +5.1%,
- vegetables — +3.5%.
At the same time, compared to the same month of the previous year, sugar prices decreased by 4.3%.
Among non‑food goods, average consumer prices increased by 1.8%, with the most notable rises in:
- footwear — +5.3%,
- clothing — +5.1%,
- construction materials — +4.1%,
- medicines — +3.6%.
Meanwhile, prices for fuel and petroleum products decreased by 5.1%.
Among services, average consumer prices increased by 7.2% over the past 12 months. The most significant increases compared to January 2025 were recorded for:
- water supply and sewerage — +17.7%,
- public catering — +11.8%,
- district heating — +8.2%,
- passenger transport — +7.5%.
At the same time, electricity prices decreased by 1.6%.
